Nothing lasts forever-Maroon 5
Chapter 1 : The title already tells the theme of the book 'The Great Gatsby'. Tom and Daisy's attitude toward each other shows that their relationship won't last forever. The reality that they live in and their illusion that is described as an ideal world are contradicted, thus I chose this song 'Nothing lasts forever'.

Gymnopedie- Eric Satie
Chapter 3: This is one of my favorite classic songs. The slow play of piano at the beginning of the song seems to describe the mood of the party in chapter 3. Everyone at the party enjoyed drinking and talking with unknown people, however, their conversation turned out to be meaningless.

I have a man - Gain (Korean song)
Chapter 5: In this chapter, Nick meets Gatsby and he realizes that Gatsby is nervous because he actually wants Nick to agree to his plan of inviting Daisy. Nick agrees to Gatsby that he will help him with the plan. Gatsby, who was way too happy, immediately sends someone to cut Nick’s grass. Nick feels bad how Gatsby tries to pay him for arranging the meeting with Daisy, then he refuses Gatsby’s offers. However, he agrees to call Daisy and invite her to his house. I chose this song to describe the emotional change that Daisy will go through after chapter 5.

Aqua man - Beenzino
Chapter 6: This song describes Gatsby as an aqua man, which means a man who is treated like one of the fish in a bowl to an attractive woman or woman he loves. It shows Gatsby's indefinite position/aspect to Daisy.

Back at your door- Maroon 5
Chapter 7 : In this chapter, Gatsby was hiding in the bushes to make Tom not to hurt Daisy's feelings. Tom had a fight with Myrtle in the car, so it was pretty obvious for Gatsby that Tom will express his anger to Daisy. Gatsby later walks and stare at Daisy's house alone at night in the moonlight. His actions in chapter 7 is similar to this song 'Back at your door'.

Better that we break - Maroon 5
Chapter 8: The sudden death of Myrtle eventually caused Gatsby's death. Gatsby was innocent, and some readers will be surprised at the sudden end of a passionate man. However, I think it is the author's intention to conclude the book in a moral way. Gatsby truly loved Daisy, however, loving a married woman turned out to be a wrong choice.

Gravity- Sara Bareilles
Chapter 9: This is the last chapter and Nick describes events that happened after Gatsby's death. He describes Gatsby with his memories and he indirectly reveals his thought that everything belongs to gravity, the original pressure(fate) that is attached to people's life.

Rhapsody in Blue - Gershwin
Chapter 2: This classic song is one of the most attractive and active classic songs. The unexpected present of clarinet at the beginning of the song can be compared to unexpected relationship between Daisy and Tom(he cheated on another woman) and also it can be related to Tom and Nick's journey to see Tom's girlfriend.
